Great news in acupuncture study, but poor conclusion.

Pregnancy: Some Depression Relief, Without Drugs

The big win in this study is that it shows that acupuncture was used choosing points specifically targeted at depression and it worked, better than massage and better than points chosen at random. However, the lead author's conclusion was that, "results suggested that some symptoms of depression during pregnancy might be related to physical discomfort that is alleviated by acupuncture."

Really, you choose points for depression and anxiety but they work on pain? Could it be that maybe those points worked as predicted and don't require falling back to the old acupuncture analgesia response? Maybe.
