What is alternative?

The lines between different modalities keeps blurring and that is a good thing. Just today, I sent a patient to the ER because that is where she needed to be. I'm thankful for a couple things, that I had sufficient training in Western Medicine to recognize when things look bad and that Heather was in the clinic today. Had Heather not been in today, I still would have sent my patient to the MD, but it was great to be able to have access to her nursey knowledge to confirm my suspicions. Anyway, check out the Newsweek article that this post links to, I thought it was pretty interesting.
