What is alternative?

The lines between different modalities keeps blurring and that is a good thing. Just today, I sent a patient to the ER because that is where she needed to be. I'm thankful for a couple things, that I had sufficient training in Western Medicine to recognize when things look bad and that Heather was in the clinic today. Had Heather not been in today, I still would have sent my patient to the MD, but it was great to be able to have access to her nursey knowledge to confirm my suspicions.
